Encode, decode, format and hash text or data directly in your browser.
Choose a conversion below. Every tool includes an instant result, an example and a short explanation.
Choosing the right conversion
Text tools change the representation of characters and data. HTML escaping, URL percent-encoding, Base64 and hexadecimal each solve a different problem, so choose the format expected by the receiving system. JSON formatting changes whitespace while preserving parsed values; cryptographic hashes instead produce a one-way digest.
Your input is processed in the browser. Even so, decoded material can contain unsafe markup or a misleading URL; treat output as untrusted when passing it to another application. For Base64 and hexadecimal, UTF-8 bytes explain why accented letters and emoji occupy more than one byte. Keep the original while testing a round trip.
No. HTML entities, URL escapes, hexadecimal and Base64 change how bytes or characters are represented. Anyone who knows the format can reverse a reversible encoding. A cryptographic hash works differently: it is not meant to be decoded. Choose the tool for the receiving format and never treat visual unreadability as security.
When should I use the batch or chain controls?
Batch conversion is useful for independent single-line values that all need the same operation. Chaining passes one result into a second tool, for example decoding and then formatting. Check each intermediate output and preserve the original text, because applying the wrong operation or applying one twice can produce plausible but unintended results.
